How Video Is Integrating with Sales and CRM

If you work in sales, you know plenty about CRM, or customer relationship management. You also probably know how beneficial video is to you and your team with respect to CRM. If you can’t be there in person, video is definitely the next best thing. But until recently, one drawback with video was that you weren’t able to see if the lead you were targeting even watched it. Now however, there are several video marketing platforms available that integrate directly with both marketing automation and CRM systems which can tell you who watched your video, how long they watched it, and if they moved on to more of your videos afterward.

This creates huge potential for salespeople by allowing them to read their leads’ interaction with their media. Integrated video marketing platforms show exactly what content leads are interested in, and how much interest they have, based on how long they watched the video. Salespeople can use this information to develop targeted pitches and sales calls with a great potential for success. A real world example for this comes from sales app developer Salesforce, which sent out a pre-conference video to potential leads and used the resulting data to develop targeted pitches.

 

Sending the video out to our pre-conference leads along with a map to our booth, we had 12% of contacts watch the entire video all the way through. As part of the campaign, we set up a workflow rule in Salesforce that notified our sales reps when more than 755 of the video was viewed by a lead. By following up with leads through emails and responding to incoming requests for demos, we were able to track and account for well over $3,200,000 in the pipeline – all from one highly target video marketing campaign connected to our CRM!
