Coming up with ideas for video content doesn’t have to involve reinventing the wheel. In fact, simple may be better in a lot of cases. One simple but effective content strategy for video for your website is the repurposing of content which already exists in other forms.
Making the Old, New
There’s probably a lot of content that already exists on your website. It may be in the form of product descriptions, articles, testimonials, company news, or any other number of topics. And while there’s plenty to be said for well-written SEO optimized content, the fact is that some people either don’t have the time or aren’t willing to read a lot of text. This is where video comes in. By turning this preexisting content into video, you add a brand new dynamic to your website that builds on what’s already there.
For example, instead of written testimonials, ask a few clients if they’d be willing to do a video testimonial. When potential clients hear good testimonial and can see an actual client talking to them, it allows them to identify more personally with your brand and your image. Another great place for video is in blog posts. In much the same way as video testimonials, video blog posts put a face to your company and allow people to identify with your brand on a new, more personal level. If you’re stumped for video content ideas, try taking advantage of content that already exists.
