Video Production
Objective
Our objective was to create three video presentations that would hi-lite the careers of the honorees for the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation Aspire Awards, emphasizing the fact that mentors (coaches) and mentoring had played a vital role in their successes.
Strategy
TalkingTree had much historical footage of the honorees and exploited the fact by creating three videos in a documentary style.
No footage was shot for the project. Each video stressed the Life Coach aspect of the subjects’ careers, rather than the stats or accomplishments. Acquisition of material from the honorees themselves proved a challenge. Keeping communications very current was key to ensuring our deadlines could be met and that the material they sent could be incorporated.
Process
Research of honoree careers and quotes began the writing process, a full day per subject. Script was outlined with tentative directions and we began compiling relevant footage and stills. Script was tweaked to fit the footage available and a narration track was recorded. After script approval, the editing and post production followed within a week and the videos were delivered well before the event.
Outcome
The client received from us a trio of documentary-style biographies, each produced with the underlying mentoring theme. Historic details were accurate and honorees approved of the final versions.
